Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. 30901 Development Corporation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 1999, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.

30901 Development Corporation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit community development organization located in the Historic Bethlehem Community.  Formed in 1999, we are dedicated to providing quality services to low to moderate income individuals in an effort to empower them to build a solid future for themselves and their families as they become self - sufficient.  The optimal end result is to transform areas once depicted as blighted into safe, prosperous neighborhoods.

Years ago, the Historic Bethlehem Community was a very prosperous and progressive urban neighborhood.  Residents owned their homes and businesses thrived.  During the 1870s, three families owned the area of the Bethlehem community: the Jacksons, Steiners, and Picquets. By 1876, all three property owners had begun to subdivide their land to accommodate new interest in settlement of the area due to its favorable location. The community grew and prospered.

Industries in the area included the Georgia-Carolina Warehouse and Compress Company, brick yards, lumberyards, and the Central of Georgia railroad yard.  They employed those who settled in the neighborhood.  The out flight of those residents from the community in the 70’s and 80’s left many vacant homes, unsanitary living conditions and the community in a blighted condition.

 

30901 Development Corp. has made great strides in restoring the community, by providing safe affordable housing and economic opportunities; but there is still much work to be done.
